To get to the chamber in the center of the pyrimid, you follow a narrow passage which climbs about five flights of steps through the darkness. You share this experience with hundreds of other people who stream in and out like a line of ants frequently squeezing sideways to pass people since the tunnel clearly wasn't designed for two-way traffic.
